MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084469 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'secured door locking/unlocking assistive system.'
Inventor(s) include Taranjeet Kaur; Sarbpreet Kaur; and Pradeep Kumar Jindal.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured door locking/unlocking assistive system comprises of an elongated frame 1 developed to be installed vertically near to handle of a door lock, multiple suction cups 2 integrated below frame 1 for adhering the frame 1 onto the door, a microphone 3 integrated on the frame 1 for receiving audio input of knocking of the door or ringing of doorbell, an imaging unit installed on opposite portion of the door for capturing surrounding images, a user-interface installed on a computing unit associated with system for receiving notification and enabling the user for approval of entry of person standing outside door, a C-shaped slidable member 4 integrated on the frame 1 via a crank 5 encased within a sliding rail 6 for holding handle in locked state, and a motor linked with the crank 5 for translating the crank 5 in a downward direction in order to unlock the door."
