MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022901 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 23, 2024, for 'secured commodities storage device for beaches.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured commodities storage device for beaches, comprising a hollow cylindrical body 1 to be positioned on a ground surface of a beach, a biometric scanner 2 to activate/deactivate device, a motorized iris lid 3 to allow user to accommodate multiple commodities, a basket-like structure 4 for properly accommodating commodities, a drawer arrangement 5 to ensure proper accommodation of commodities inside body 1, plurality of telescopically operated rods 6 to ensure compactness of body 1, a motorized slider 7 for translating rods 6 and a spiral flap 8 to penetrate body 1 within surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 9 to determine presence of any unauthorized person, a speaker 10 for notifying people regarding unauthorized access and a computing unit 11 to be accessed by the user to determine exact location of the implanted body 1."
