MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025581 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'secured bicycle parking device.'

Inventor(s) include Mamta Bansal; Mohd. Ahamad; Arun Saini; and Gargi Chaudhary.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured bicycle parking device comprises of a platform 1 positioned over ground surface by means of plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 4, a vertical plate 2 is attached with one side of the platform 1 and crafted with multiple slots 5 to position front wheel of a bicycle in one of the slots 5, a touch interactive display panel to provide input regrading a requirement of locking of the bicycle, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 11 for determining the positioning of the front wheel within a particular the slot, multiple pneumatic lock pins 7 to extend and pass through rim of the front wheel and gets inserted within corresponding holes in view of locking the front wheel with the particular slot 5, and a pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 8 to extend and pass through rim of rear wheel of the bicycle."
