MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541134089 A) filed by Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'secure timer based data release and deletion for edge ai systems.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. M. Thangamani; Mr. V. Govarthan; and Mr. B. Dinesh.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secure edge-Al hardware module is disclosed for enabling localized artificial intelligence processing with enhanced data protection and operational reliability. The module integrates a -compact processing unit, secure memory, and communication interfaces within a tamper-resistant enclosure designed for edge environments. By performing data acquisition, inference, and preliminary analytics directly at the device level, the system minimizes dependence on cloud connectivity and reduces data transmission latency. Security mechanisms, including isolated execution zones and controlled l!O access, help protect sensitive data and models from unauthorized access. The hardware architecture supports real-time operation under constrained power and network conditions, making it suitable. for industrial, smart infrastructure, and embedded AI applications. Multiple physical views illustrate the structural layout and enclosure design, highlighting thermal management and modular accessibility. Overall, the proposed secure edge-AI module provides a practical balance between computational capability, security, and . deployability for distributed intelligent systems."
