MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541126605 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 14, 2025, for 'secure messaging platform with machine learning based intrusion detection.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Saravanaguru Ra K; Mr. Baratam Karthikey; and Mr. Vasantha Vivek.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a secure messaging platform comprising a messaging module configured to encrypt messages for secure communication between users, a machine learning-based intrusion detection system configured to analyze network traffic patterns in real-time to detect anomalous activities indicative of network intrusions, and integration between the messaging module and the intrusion detection system to provide unified security. The messaging module implements end-to-end encryption using Advanced Encryption Standard and RSA cryptographic algorithms to protect message content during transmission. The machine learning-based intrusion detection system employs supervised learning algorithms trained on labeled network traffic data to classify communication patterns as benign or malicious with detection accuracy exceeding 95%. The platform incorporates a threat prevention module that automatically responds to detected intrusions by implementing countermeasures including connection termination and user alerts, and a user interface module that displays encryption status and security alerts to users."
