MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441011201 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 17, 2024, for 'secure domain name system communication in a communication network system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments disclosed herein describe a method, a dedicated Network Function (NF) device (300) and a DNS server (400) for securing Domain Name System (DNS) communication in a communication network system. The method involves the dedicated NF device (300) receiving a DNS server security configuration from a DNS server (400). Further, the dedicated NF device (300) configures the DNS server security configuration in the dedicated NFs which includes one or more of security mechanism, security credentials, DNS service port, security profile, and security information. Further, the dedicated NF device (300) performs the DNS communication with the DNS server (400) by protecting DNS messages based on the configured DNS server security configuration."
