MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003986 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'secure commodities storage device for public places.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secure commodities storage device for public places, comprising a body 1 assembled with multiple compartments 3 for storing user's commodities, touch interactive display panel 4 for providing detail regarding number of commodities to be stored along with duration of storage, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 determine dimensions of user's commodities positioned in proximity to body 1 for evaluating a rent for storing commodities that is displayed on panel 4 along QR (Quick response) for initiating payment of use, a motorized lid 6 actuated by microcontroller for allowing user to store commodities, a flap 8 integrated on lateral ends of compartments 3 by means of a pair of motorized sliding units 7 for partitioning compartments 3 for covering leftover space, a fingerprint sensor accessed by user for closing particular compartment 3 for allotted unique code to particular compartment 3 for securing access of compartments 3."
