MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411002315 A) filed by Tenneco Automotive Operating Company Inc., Northville, U.S.A., on Jan. 11, 2024, for 'secondary mixer for exhuast aftertreatment system.'
Inventor(s) include Puneet Chandra Mishra; Karan Ganjigatti; Sagar Shekhar Andhari; Dinesh Namdev Bodake; and Yogesh Choudhary.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An exhaust aftertreatment system for an engine includes an exhaust passageway which receives exhaust gases from the engine. An injector associated with the exhaust passageway injects a reductant fluid into the exhaust passageway. An exhaust gas aftertreatment device is provided within the exhaust passageway. The exhaust gas aftertreatment device is provided downstream of the injector. A mixer assembly is provided within the exhaust passageway. The mixer assembly is provided downstream of the injector and upstream of the exhaust gas aftertreatment device. The mixer assembly includes a primary mixer and a secondary mixer downstream of the primary mixer. The secondary mixer includes a mixer plate having at least a partial helical structure. The mixer plate further includes at least one aperture defined on the mixer plate."
