MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617009802 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Jan. 30, for 'secondary battery, manufacturing method thereof, and battery pack.'
Inventor(s) include Lee, Ji Sun; Kim, Sang Hun; Lee, Jae Ho; and Choi, Ji Eun.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a secondary battery which has reduced limitation on shape and improved battery capacity, can reduce the amount of moisture introduced from the outside, and has improved structural stability. According to the present invention, the secondary battery comprises: an electrode assembly; an external film surrounding a part of the electrode assembly; and a cap surrounding the rest of the electrode assembly. The cap comprises: a connection part coupled to the external film; a terminal part partially buried in the connection part; and an outer surface part covering at least a part of the outer surface of the terminal part, which faces the outside of the electrode assembly."
The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 28, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/012879.
