MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049804 A) filed by Nok Corporation, Tokyo, on May 23, for 'sealing device.'
Inventor(s) include Tanaka, Kazuki.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a sealing device with which it is possible to prevent a garter spring from coming out of an annular groove. The sealing device 10 is characterized by having a preventing part that prevents a garter spring 300, which deforms when the sealing device 10 is attached to a shaft 20, from protruding from an annular groove 221, the preventing part having, on a lip-distal-end side of the outer peripheral surface of a seal lip 220, a plurality of protrusions 222 that protrude toward the base side of the seal lip 220 at intervals in the circumferential direction, and the preventing part also having, on the base-side surfaces of the protrusions 222, a support surface that supports the garter spring 300 in a manner following the outer peripheral surface of the garter spring 300 when viewed in a cross-section taken through the seal lip 220 at a plane including the center axis of the shaft 20."
