MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517022885 A) filed by Utsunomiya Kogyo Co. Ltd., Tokyo, on March 13, for 'scum peeling device, water conduit, and sedimentation pond.'

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a scum peeling device comprising: a pair of pipes that extend along a flow direction of raw water inside two side walls of a water conduit, have a plurality of openings at intervals in a length direction, and are provided so as to be positioned below scum; and a plurality of pressure fluid supply units that supply a pressure fluid from a pressure fluid supply source to the pipes, wherein the pipes are divided into a plurality of regions having a predetermined length along the flow direction of the raw water, the pressure fluid supply units are respectively connected to divided regions, and, by jetting the pressure fluid from the openings of the pipes, the scum is smoothly peeled off from the entire inner wall of the water conduit."
