MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012459 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'screen protector changing device for mobile phone.'
Inventor(s) include Kiran Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A screen protector changing device for mobile phones, comprising a housing 1 installed with a platform 2 to accommodate mobile phone, a camera 4 mounted within housing 1 for detecting dimensions of mobile phone and exact location of screen protector, a wedge-shaped plate 5 inserted in between protector and screen, a motorized slider 7 translates links 6 for completely removing protector from screen, an electronic nozzle 9 attached with a vessel 10 for dispensing cleaning solution on screen, a telescopically operated rod 11 extends and positions a fabric 12 in contact with screen, a two-axis lead screw arrangement 13 translates rod 11 and fabric 12 for wiping screen, two robotic arms 15 grips new protector, remove covering layer and applies over screen, a telescopically operated bar 16 extends and positions a flap 17 which is translated over screen by arrangement 13 for to remove air bubbles."
