MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073162 A) filed by Rakuten Symphony, Inc., Tokyo, on Sept. 27, 2024, for 'scheduling radio resources for a carrier group by a distributed unit.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is an apparatus (114) configured to identify a configured capacity of a fronthaul link between the apparatus (114) and a Radio Unit (RU) (116). The fronthaul link is associated with one or more carriers sharing the fronthaul link and the one or more carriers form a carrier group. Further, the apparatus (114) is configured to determine effective Resource Blocks (RBs) to be scheduled. The determination of the effective RBs to be scheduled is based on the identified configured capacity. Furthermore, the apparatus (114) is configured to schedule a transmission of data packets via the one or more carriers based on the determined effective RBs."
