MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641009131 A) filed by Dr. M. G. R. Educational & Research Institute, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 29, for 'sanitary napkin incorporating herbal composition within cotton absorbent core.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sanitary napkin (100) for menstrual hygiene management is disclosed. The sanitary napkin (100) comprises a top sheet (102) formed of a non-woven fabric having a grammage of about 18 GSM and configured to contact a skin surface of a user, and a bottom sheet (104) formed of a non-woven fabric having a grammage of about 18 GSM and configured to face a garment side. An absorbent core (106) is disposed between the top sheet (102) and the bottom sheet (104), the absorbent core (106) being formed of natural cotton material. The absorbent core (106) incorporates a herbal composition embedded within the cotton material, the herbal composition comprising neem, basil, aloe vera, and turmeric mixed in a predefined ratio of 1:1:1:1/2. The sanitary napkin (100) is provided in length variants of approximately 280 mm, 300 mm, and 320 mm."
