MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026020 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'sandwich maker operation assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sandwich maker operation assistive device comprises of a platform 1 developed to be positioned in proximity to edge of bottom portion of a sandwich maker and attached with an elongated handle 2 gripped by a user, a microphone is positioned on the handle for enabling the user to give voice commands, an L-shaped extendable plate 3 configured with the platform 1 to extend via a drawer arrangement for lifting lid of the sandwich maker, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted on the platform 1 detecting exact location over which the sandwich is to be kept, a holographic projecting unit 5 projecting holograms to guide the user, a motorized slider 6 configured between the platform 1 and handle for translating the platform 1 away from the bottom portion of the sandwich maker, a motorized ball and socket joint 7 providing suitable bi-directional motion to the plate."
