MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007033 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'sand filling assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Mohit Srivastava; Dr Abhishek Sharma; Dr. Sanjeev Kumar; Harshita Srivastava; and Ayush Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sand filling assistive device, comprising a platform 1 installed with a ring 2 via a set of plates 3 and a sack is manually inserted within ring 2, a pair of motorized clippers 4 configured with ring 2 for gripping mouth portion of sack for allowing user to fill sand in sack, a camera 6 mounted on platform 1 for detecting dimensions of sack, two motorized sliders 13 configured between plates 3 and disc 7 for translating disc 7 towards a bottom of plates 3 for providing support to sack during filling of sack, a weight sensor positioned on disc 7 for detecting weight of sand filled within sack, a speaker 8 mounted on platform 1 for notifying user to stop filling sand, and two motorized hinges configured between platform 1 and plates 3 for tilting plates 3 to allow user to take out sack from ring 2."
