MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647036533 A) filed by Veran Medical Technologies, Llc, Colorado, U.S.A., on March 25, for 'sampling equipment recommendation based on target location.'

Inventor(s) include Mandalapa Bhoopathy, Vignesh; Adler, Joshua Michael; Rhodes, Richard; and Cicero, Michael.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems, devices, and methods for determining a sampling device for use in an ultrasound-guided endoscopic tissue acquisition procedure are disclosed. An exemplary system comprises an ultrasound imaging device to produce ultrasound images of an anatomical target in a real-time ultrasound field of view (FOV), a display to display the ultrasound images in the ultrasound FOV, and a processor. Based on the location of the anatomical target in the ultrasound FOV, the processor predicts, from multiple nominal sampling device trajectories, a nominal sampling device trajectory that intersects the anatomical target. The multiple nominal trajectories correspond to different hardware configurations of the multiple nominal sampling devices. The processor determines a sampling device recommendation having a hardware configuration in accordance with the predicted nominal sampling device trajectory."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 05, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/045279.
