MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517119781 A) filed by Covaris, Llc, Woburn, U.S.A., on Dec. 1, 2025, for 'sample holder with conduit for receiving a sample.'
Inventor(s) include Cruz, Amos, G; Duong, Minh; O'Keefe, Jonathan; Watson, Annemarie; Ognibene, Edward; Thomann, Ulrich; and Daviso, Eugenio.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sample holder for collecting a liquid sample, such as blood. The holder can include a vessel, a conduit having a proximal end extending from the vessel and a distal end positioned in the vessel, and a cap configured to engage with the vessel and create pressure to move a liquid sample in the conduit to move from the proximal end to the distal end. A desiccant can be used to dry a blood sample during storage."
