MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133730 A) filed by Gna University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'safety stair railing system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A safety stair railing system, comprises of a railing structure 101 configured to be mounted alongside a stairway or elevated platform, a plurality of overlapping plates 105 with a set of motorized sliders 106 arranged between the overlapping plates 105 for adjusting stair height in response to detected user characteristics, an AI-based camera 102 mounted on the railing structure 101 for capturing facial features of a user approaching the railing, a microcontroller configured to process the facial data to estimate user age and actuate the motorized sliders 106 accordingly, a plurality of sensing modules integrated with the railing structure 101 for detecting hand presence, grip consistency, and movement patterns of the user, a wearable band 107 communicatively linked to the microcontroller and comprising an accelerometer and gyroscope for detecting user movement, balance, and gait, and a foldable seating platform 108 mounted on a slider 109 for vertical movement and support."
