MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521105716 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Oct. 31, for 'safety management system for maritime vessels.'

Inventor(s) include Monisha Mohan; and Abhinav Biju.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A safety management system for maritime vessels, comprises of a monitoring unit for detecting dangerous marine life, underwater debris, and predicting storms through wave analysis, a weight balancing unit with gyroscopic sensor dynamically adjusts vessel inclination, while a load sensor monitors onboard weight distribution, multiple inflatable tubes 108 enhance buoyancy during sea density changes, a cleaning module automatically cleans the deposited algae or debris, an ice layers breaking module breaks ice layers or push floating objects to clear vessel's path, a covering unit deploys a retractable sheet 119 during storms, a GPS module tracks real-time location relative to international boundaries, a communication module transmits SOS alerts with embedded location and environmental data, and a microcontroller processes real-time inputs and activates safety protocols including steering guidance, load redistribution, and protective deployments."
