MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018307 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 18, for 'safety management system for gas-fueled cooking appliances.'
Inventor(s) include Aswiga R V; and Jayampu Akash Siva Teja.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A safety management system (100) for a gas-operated cooking appliance (102) may include a robotic arm operatively positioned relative to cooking appliance (102), a sensor suite (108) includes gas concentration (108-1), flame (108-2), temperature (108-3), and imaging (108-4) sensors, an electronically actuated gas flow control valve (110) coupled to a gas supply source (112), and a gas flow control actuator (106) associated with cooking appliance (102). A control unit (114), in communication with robotic arm (104), sensor suite (108), and gas flow control valve (110) may receive multi-modal sensor data indicative of gas concentration, combustion state, temperature, and visual parameters, and analyzes data using an anomaly detection module to identify hazardous operating conditions and generate a hazard likelihood score. Based on score, system (100) autonomously actuates gas flow control actuator (106) and interrupts gas flow prior to unsafe conditions, while issuing user alerts via mobile devices (118) or voice interfaces."
