According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention discloses a "Safety Band," a wearable device for continuous health monitoring and emergency alerting. The band integrates a multi-sensor system, including a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor and a cuff-less blood pressure monitor, to track a user's pulse and blood pressure continuously. An onboard processing unit analyzes this data in real-time, comparing it to personalized thresholds to detect abnormal physiological events, such as hypertensive crises or extreme tachycardia. Upon detection of an abnormal reading or a fall (detected by an integrated IMU), the device automatically triggers an alert. It acquires the user's precise location via GPS and transmits an emergency message containing the critical vital signs and location coordinates to pre-designated emergency contacts or a monitoring center via a built-in cellular module. This system enables rapid medical response by providing context-rich, real-time data, significantly improving outcomes for individuals living alone or with chronic conditions. The device also includes a manual SOS button for userinitiated emergencies."
