MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105676 A) filed by Chitkara University; and Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation, Rajpura, Punjab, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'safety and automation device for gas stoves.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shaily Jain; Dr. Yogesh; Gurleen Kaur; and Garima Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A safety and automation device for gas stoves, comprises of a L-shaped body 101 configured to accommodate a gas stove, an AI camera 104 integrated with an ultrasonic sensor configured to scan the gas stove and detect its dimensions, alignment, and operational status, a motorized drawer configured to modulate the dimensions of the body 101 to fully enclose and protect the gas stove, a gas stove knob manipulation arrangement to manipulate the knobs in response to gas leakage, a protective covering arrangement configured to automatically cover the gas stove surface under unsafe or idle conditions, a fire suppression arrangement for mitigating fire hazards on the gas stove, a microphone 106 to capture user voice commands and environmental sounds, and a mixing arrangement for stirring food in a utensil placed on the gas stove."
