MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641019837 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 20, for 'safe stride suit.'

The device helps children with motor impairments or balance problems develop independent walking skills while reducing the risk of falls. The suit includes ergonomically shaped segments that support the torso, hips and lower limbs, distributing the load evenly and allowing full movement. Built-in tension-control mechanisms that allow for real-time adjustments of body weight support providing personalized resistance based on the child's needs. The therapist straps have quick-release and tension feedback systems for easy handling and improved safety during training sessions. This invention boosts therapeutic results by encouraging natural walking patterns, decreasing therapist fatigue and increasing patient confidence and safety. It is suitable for various rehabilitation settings such as clinics, therapy centers and homes."
