MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517070806 A) filed by Autoliv Development AB, Vargarda, Sweden, on July 25, for 'rupturable device.'
Inventor(s) include Mucchiano-Ahlstrom, Alexander; and Jonsson, Martin.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rupturable device (14) for an air-bag enclosure (2), the device comprising a body (3) incorporating a mechanically weakened portion (22), the mechanically weakened portion (22) being configured to rupture to provide an opening in the body (3) when the mechanically weakened portion (22) is subjected to a force from an air-(10) bag inflating within the air-bag enclosure (2); and a releasable attachment (28) coupled to the body (3), the releasable attachment (28) being configured to releasably attach to the air-bag enclosure (2) to enable the rupturable device (14) to be detached from the air-bag enclosure (2) and replaced after the mechanically weakened portion (22) has been ruptured."
