MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017915 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'rubber grip engaging device for sports equipment.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rubber grip engaging device for sports equipment comprises of a cylindrical shaped hollow body 1 having a first 2 and second opening 3 developed to be installed by a user above a handle of a sports equipment, an imaging unit 5 for determining positioning of body 1 above handle, at-least four motorized hinge joints 6 for providing movement to at-least four lids 7 in order to expose opening to allow user to insert handle inside body 1, a pair of motorized slider 8 for providing a linear motion to an abrasive sheet 9 in order to maintain smoothness of handle, a speaker 11 for generating voice commands to notify user regarding withdrawing of handle out of body 1, a chamber 12 for storing multiple rubber grips, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting insertion of grips inside body 1, multiple suction cups 10 for affixing and gripping grip."
