MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018211 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'rowing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Yash Chandra Gangwar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rowing assistive device comprises of a platform 1 positioned over surface of a water body to be travelled, pair of rods 3 that is accessed by user to get accommodated over platform 1 to experience rowing, motorized sliding unit 4 configured with each of rods 3 and arranged with foot rest to position feet of user over footrest 5 and provide reciprocatory to and fro movement to the footrest 5, pair of oars 6 each attached with lateral end of footrest 5 via link 7 that are grabbed by user for rowing platform 1 over water body, microphone 8 to receive voice command of user regarding automated rowing of platform 1, artificial intelligence based imaging unit 9 for capturing images of user, speaker 10 to produce voice notification to guide user to attain appropriate posture and a FBG sensor to monitor vital health parameters of user while rowing."
