MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051257 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on May 28, for 'rotor, rotor core, induction motor, and design method for induction motor.'

Inventor(s) include Honma Rei.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention comprises a rotor core (31) and a plurality of secondary conductors (32) that are arranged on the rotor core (31) at intervals in the circumferential direction of the rotor core (31). A plurality of insertion holes (34) into which the secondary conductors (32) are inserted are formed in the rotor core (31), slots (35) that open to the outside in the radial direction of the rotor core (31) are provided outside the secondary conductors (32) of the rotor core (31) in the radial direction, and the secondary conductors (32) are exposed to the outside in the radial direction via the slots (35). The rotor core (31) is provided with pairs of opposite end surfaces (36, 37) that sandwich the slots (35) in the circumferential direction. When reference lines (Lc) that intersect the center axis of the rotor core (31) and pass through the centers of the secondary conductors (32) in the circumferential direction have been set, the shapes of at least one of the secondary conductors (32) and the insertion holes (34) are symmetrical in the circumferential direction with respect to the reference lines (Lc), and the pairs of end surfaces (36, 37) are asymmetrical in the circumferential direction with respect to the reference lines (Lc)."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 09, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/040430.
