MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511134483 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, New Delhi, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'rotating bending fatigue testing machine and method of conducting a rotating bending fatigue test.'
Inventor(s) include Ramasubramanian, Lakshmi Narayan; Gupta, Nikunj; and Datla, Naresh Varma.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rotating bending fatigue testing machine (100) is disclosed for conducting high-cycle fatigue tests under fully reversed loading conditions. The machine may include a stress adjusting member (116) having multiple discrete positions (116b) for receiving one or more weights (118), wherein placement of weights (118) at different positions (116b) generates distinct bending moments. A counterweight arrangement balances components connected to a specimen holding assembly in an unloaded state. The specimen holding assembly may be operatively connected to the stress adjusting member (116) via a connecting member to apply a cantilever bending load on the specimen. A motor assembly (103) rotates the specimen, and an adjustable mounting arrangement with a slot (106a, 106b) enables repositioning of the motor assembly (103) to accommodate specimens of varying lengths, thereby enhancing dimensional versatility and enabling fatigue testing across a broad range of materials."
