MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006932 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'rope engaging assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Seema Rani; Afsana; and Rashi Arora.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rope engaging assistive device comprising of a C-shaped extendable frame 1 configured with handle 2 gripped by user to provide movement to frame 1 for positioning frame 1 in vicinity to pole around which rope is engaged, an AI-based imaging unit 3 for capturing surrounding images, to determines thickness of pole and accordingly actuates drawer arrangement 4 that provide extension/retraction to frame 1 as per thickness of pole, an ultrasonic sensor installed over frame 1 to monitor distance between frame 1 and pole, which actuates a telescopic rod 5 to extend/retract to position the frame 1 in proximity to the pole, a U-shaped hook 6 configured with a pneumatic pin 7, engaged with a pair of cavities crafted over a link to fasten the rope with pole, a spring snap hook 8 crafted over link 9 and connected with rope that is to be engaged around the pole."
