MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067686 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on July 16, for 'rollable display and electronic device comprising same.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, an electronic device may comprise: a first housing; a second housing configured to be slid with respect to the first housing; a flexible display including a first display region and a second display region extending from the first display region, and configured such that the second display region is moved on the basis of sliding of the second housing; a battery disposed in the first housing; a rack gear coupled to the first housing; a motor drive unit disposed in the second housing, connected to the rack gear, and configured to provide driving power for sliding the second housing; and a rack guide disposed in the second housing and covering at least a part of the rack gear. Various other embodiments may also be possible."
