MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004062 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'rodents trapping device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rodents trapping device, comprising a cylindrical body 1 positioned on a ground surface and configured with an elongated flap 2, a plate 3 placed with food item is arranged on flap 2 for attracting rodents, a weight sensor detects presence of rodent, a suction unit generates negative pressure in four suction cups 5 for securely gripping rodent on plate 3, a motorized slider 12 configured between flap 2 and plate 3 for translating plate 3 towards top portion of body 1, a motorized hinge 8 tilts flap 2 for dropping rodent on a platform 6 such that rodent is dropped within body 1, four to six iris pores 10 configured on body 1 for providing proper ventilation, a motorized iris lid 11 opens for dispensing food within body 1 to feed the rodent, and a computing unit linked with device for notifying a user regarding trapping of rodent."
