MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641009181 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 29, for 'robotic plastering system.'
Inventor(s) include Prashanth Suresh; Amrish Sasikumar; Yaash Ashwin M; Pariksith S S; Sarathy Srinath G; Sheena Christabel Pravin; and Manikandan E.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An autonomous robotic system (100) integrates a mobile platform (102) designed to traverse wall surfaces while supporting essential hardware components. Mounted on this platform (102), the plastering unit (104) applies a uniform layer of white cement, ensuring consistent wall finishing. A camera unit (106) captures real-time images of wall in proximity to the plastering unit (104), enabling visual monitoring and analysis. These images feed into the processing unit (108), which processes the data and generates control signals. The motor control subsystem (110), linked to minimum one motor, receives these signals to drive platform movement and operate the plastering mechanism. A feedback control loop (112) continuously monitors performance, adjusting control signals to optimize motion, accuracy, and plastering quality. Power is supplied by the integrated power unit (114), ensuring uninterrupted operation of all processing components. Collectively, this system (100) functions autonomously to perform high-precision wall plastering while continuously adapting to real-time conditions."
