MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115555 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'robotic packaging and sorting system for logistics chains.'

Inventor(s) include Gianender Kajal; Dr. Bhim Singh; Tanay Mishra; Amulya Gaur; Krishna Shukla; Raza Saifi; Krish Kaushik; Ayush Tripathi; and Nipun Shandilya.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) for AI-based packaging and sorting within logistics workflows is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a support structure (102) carrying a transport path (104), and an article carrier (106) presenting an article (108) along said transport path (104). A sensing array (110) having an imaging unit (112) acquires identification data from the article (108). A controller (114) is operatively connected to the sensing array (110) and the transport path (104) to generate a classification signal and packaging instructions based on said identification data. An actuator unit (116) coupled to the article carrier (106) directs the article (108) to a packaging interface (118) according to the classification signal. The system (100) enables automated identification, classification, and routing of articles (108) through integrated sensing and actuation, thereby improving accuracy, efficiency, and operational speed in logistics packaging and sorting operations."
