MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541082218 A) filed by Swarnamugi Raghupathy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Aug. 29, 2025, for 'robotic high-precision countersink drilling with end-effector integrated machine learning controls.'

Inventor(s) include Swarnamugi Raghupathy.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a robotic end effector assembly [002] for performing automated countersink drilling operations on a workpiece. The assembly comprises a robotic arm [001] mounted with an end effector [002], which includes a motorized electro drilling spindle [010] and tool holder drill kit [011] for precision drilling. The end effector incorporates a sensor kit assembly [013], including a vision system [019] for hole alignment, a normal orienting sensor [018] for detecting surface orientation, and a depth displacement sensor [017] for real-time depth measurement. A pneumatic actuator [014] moves the sensors along a linear slide [004], while a ball screw assembly [005] and servo motor [006] provide precise linear motion. A programmable logic controller (PLC) processes feedback data from the sensors to ensure accurate alignment and depth control. The invention enables high-precision, automated countersink drilling with reduced manual intervention, offering improved efficiency and accuracy in aerospace manufacturing."
