MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527073569 A) filed by Spotless AI Ltd., Telford, U.K., on Aug. 1, for 'robotic disinfection apparatus, disinfection robot, and control system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments relate to a robotic disinfection apparatus (10), and to a control system (120) for a disinfection robot (1). In some embodiments, disinfection tools (200, 300, 400) with germicidal light sources (202) are connected to separately-controlled manipulators (110), at least one of which has more than one degree of freedom of articulation relative to a carriage (106) of the robotic disinfection apparatus (10). In some embodiments, a tool-switching operation is possible. In some embodiments, the control system (120) predicts (1314) shadowed areas within a model of an external environment (2). In some embodiments, a tool plan determines which tool size is to be used to disinfect which locations in an external environment (2). In some embodiments, the control system (120) determines which one of a plurality of groups one or more recognized objects (3) belong to. In some examples, a germicidal light source (202) has an adjustable irradiation range."
