MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011281 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'road accident prevention device.'
Inventor(s) include Rahul Vishnoi.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A road accident prevention device characterizing a platform 1 designed to be manually positioned in contact with the front bumper of a four-wheeler vehicle and includes a proximity sensor to detect the platform 1's presence, telescopic rods 2 to engage with the front bumper's grille, a camera 4 to measure the dimensions of the rear portion of the uncontrolled vehicle, bars 5 with C-shaped hooks 7 to maintain an optimum distance, an ultrasonic sensor to measure the distance between the operational and uncontrolled vehicles, motorized pivot joints to engage the hook 7 with the uncontrolled vehicle's rear bumper, and a communication module to fetch owner details for contacting the driver. This device allows the concerned person to apply brakes and stop both vehicles, preventing road accidents."
