MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521020768 A) filed by Institute Of Chemical Technology, Maharashtra, on March 7, 2025, for 'reusable multi-well microfluidic device.'

Inventor(s) include Pooja Sawant; Dr. Prajakta Dandekar Jain; and Dr. Ratnesh Jain.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Reusable Multi-well Microfluidic Device The present invention relates to a microfluidic device, particularly, an Organ-on-Chip (OoC) device, mimicking physiological environment for cell culturing, regenerative medicine, drug toxicity study, drug discovery and screening, development of personalised medicine, preparation of tissue scaffolds and the like. The device is reusable and comprises (a) a central inlet (1) configured to receive a stream of fluid, (b) a plurality of wells (5) in fluid communication with the said inlet (1) and disposed to receive the said fluid from the said inlet (1), (c) a plurality of outlets (6), at the end of each of the said plurality of wells (5), configured to receive the said fluid from the respective wells (5), such that fluid is passed through the inlet (1) into each of the plurality of wells (5) and out from each of the plurality of outlets (6) . The inlet (1), the plurality of wells (5) and the plurality of outlets (6) are fabricated using acrylonitrile butadiene styrene."
