MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072115 A) filed by Mas Innovation (PRIVATE) Limited, Battaramulla, Sri Lanka, on July 29, for 'reusable articles and garments for retaining bodily fluids and solids.'

Inventor(s) include Wijesinghe, Wijesinghe Mudiyanselage Shashika Virajinie; Speldewinde, Dharini Alexandra; Weeramunda Sayakkara, Udara Pulajith; and Sandaruwan, Kahandawala Arachchige Don Lakshan.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a reusable article for retaining bodily fluids and solids, the reusable article comprising: a liquid impermeable inner layer having a first surface and a second surface, the first surface configured to face towards the skin of a user when in use; and a liquid impermeable barrier layer; the liquid impermeable barrier layer and the liquid impermeable inner layer being attached to each other around their peripheries, thereby forming a liquid retention chamber between the second surface of the liquid impermeable inner layer and the liquid impermeable outer layer, the liquid impermeable inner layer comprising a plurality of holes to allow a liquid to pass through the liquid impermeable inner layer into the liquid retention chamber. The present invention also provides a reusable garment comprising the reusable article of the present invention."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 04, 2024, under International application No.PCT/SG2024/050007.
