MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611010374 A) filed by IIMT College of Polytechnic, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 31, for 'retrofitting of r-12 vapour compression refrigeration system with eco friendly refrigerants r-413a and r-423a.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Kamal Kishore Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a vapor compression refrigeration system designed for eco-friendly operation, comprising a refrigerant mixture selected from R-423a (a binary mixture of R-227ea and R-600a) or R-413a (a ternary mixture of R-134a, R-218, and R-600a), wherein said refrigerant mixture is used as a substitute for CFC-12, characterized by its comparable or superior thermodynamic and transport properties, ensuring compatibility with existing refrigeration system components and providing improved environmental safety by reducing ozone layer depletion and global warming potential."
