MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517044763 A) filed by Autoliv Development AB, Vargarda, Sweden, on May 8, for 'restraint device for an occupant sitting on a vehicle seat of a motor vehicle vehicle seat having a restraint device and restraint system.'
Inventor(s) include Larsson Linus; Mathiasson Elias; and Wang Da.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a restraint device (4) for an occupant sitting on a vehicle seat (1) of a motor vehicle with a belt retractor (6) with a frame which is fastenable in a manner fixed on the vehicle and a belt shaft rotatably mounted in the frame and a safety belt (5) an end of which can be wound onto the belt shaft and which is directed over the shoulder of the occupant in order to restrain the occupant wherein a rotary angle sensor (16) which detects the rotational movement of the belt shaft is provided and a position sensor (15) is provided which generates a signal representing the directing angle of the safety belt (5) over the shoulder of the occupant."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 19, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/079139.
