MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517046477 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on May 14, for 'resistance spot welding method.'

Inventor(s) include Endo Reiko; and Takashima Katsutoshi.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The purpose of the present invention is to provide a resistance spot welding method. The present invention is a resistance spot welding method for joining a sheet set in which two or more steel sheets including at least one high-strength steel sheet are stacked, a steel sheet having a specific component composition being used as the high-strength steel sheet, and the method comprising: a main energization step for energizing the sheet set at a current value Iw to thereby form a resistance-spot-welded part; and, after the main energization step, a post-heat-treatment step including a cooling process in which the resistance-spot-welded part is cooled during a cooling time tc longer than 800 ms, and a warming process in which the resistance-spot-welded part is energized during an energization time tt longer than 100 ms and not longer than 300 ms at a current value It that satisfies the relationship 1.05 Iw=It=1.80 Iw."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 13, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/033285.
