MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013317 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'rescue device for wells.'
Inventor(s) include Gurpreet Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rescue device for wells, comprising a frame 1 having two primary motorized rollers 2 wrapped with a pair of strings 3 and positioned near well, a free-end of strings 3 are attached with a semi-cylindrical hollow member 4 that is to be manually suspended within well, a camera 6 detects exact location of individual and primary rollers 2 unwrap strings 3 to position member 4 near individual, a speaker 7 notifies individual to accommodate over member 4 and fasten straps 8, a secondary motorized roller 9 tightens straps 8 to secure individual, plurality of electromagnets energized for energizing a magnetorheological fluid filled within member 4 for increasing hardness of member 4 to support to individual and simultaneously primary rollers 2 rotate for pulling out individual, an angle sensor detects inclination of member 4 and primary rollers 2 rotates accordingly to prevent any chances of strain in individual's body."
