MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006623 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'rescue device for flood affected areas.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shweta Lamba; Mandeep Kaur; Dr. Amresh Kumar; and Satwinder Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rescue device for flood affected areas, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a ground surface in a flood affected area, a camera 2 for detecting individual(s) in the surroundings, motorized omnidirectional wheels 3 for maneuvering and positioning the body 1 in proximity to the individual, a primary ladder 4 for ascending towards a top portion of the body 1, a pair of motorized sliders 5 for translating a pair of motorized propellers 6, towards the ground surface, propellers 6, to rotate for allowing translation of the body 1 in water, a motorized to open for allowing individual(s)to enter in the body 1 by accessing a secondary ladder 8, plates via double-rack gear arrangements for translating the plates to allow individual(s) to comfortably sit over the plate, motorized iris lid 14 to open for access food packet, and iris pores 11 for proper ventilation in the body 1."
