MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511112819 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on Nov. 17, 2025, for 'rescue assistance device for uavs.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Jai Prakash Sharma; Dr. Priyanka Bansal; Nitin Kumar; Ujjawal Arora; and Harshil Aron.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rescue assistance device for UAVs, comprising a body 101 integrated with a set of motorized gripping clamps 102 configured for secure attachment to an underside of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a monitoring module integrated with the body 101 configured to monitor outer surroundings for detection of emergency situation, a bridge support and anchoring arrangement integrated with a bottom section of body 101 to provide temporary bridging and structural stability over floodwaters or damaged terrain, a storage chamber 103 formed within the body 101 and partitioned into multiple compartments for securely storing and deploying essential rescue items, an ultrasonic proximity sensor paired with a global positioning system (GPS) module to verify a stable drop zone, a motorized flap gate 104 for controlled release, and an inflatable tube deployment arrangement for flotation support, and a rope releasing unit for high-tensile rescue operations."
