MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020745 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'reptile housing device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Deepika Sharma; and Dr. Rupinder Kaur Sodhi.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A reptile housing device, comprising a housing 1 stored with a reptile, a motorized slidable lid 2 to open and close housing 1 as per requirement, a touch interactive display panel 3 accessed by a user to provide input regarding a requirement of opening of housing 1 for partial withdrawal of reptile, an biometric sensor for authenticating user, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 determines positioning of reptile within housing 1 along with location of head and tail portion of reptile, a two axis lead screw arrangement 7 provide translation to a ring 6 to position ring 6 around detected tail portion, a laser measurement sensor monitors dimension of tail portion, a motorized iris unit 8 retracts for gripping tail portion and thereafter lid 2 opens for enabling user to partially withdraw snake from housing 1, a thermal sensor 9 monitors temperature of reptile."
