MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025406 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'repairing assistive device for woods.'

Inventor(s) include Surender Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A repairing assistive device for woods, comprising a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface within an enclosure, an imaging unit 2 mounted on the body 1 evaluates a 3D (dimensional) mapping of the enclosure, a display panel 3 mapped on the body 1 for displaying the evaluated mapping, a primary robotic arm 4 installed on the body 1 installed with an electronic nozzle connected with a chamber 5 for placing the nozzle towards the crack for dispensing the adhesive solution in the crack, a telescopically operated gripper 6 installed on a slab attached with the body 1 for gripping a wooden block from a chamber 7 attached on the body 1, a motorized cutter 8 installed on the body 1 for cutting the block and a suction unit 9 installed on the body 1 for withdrawing wood dust generated during cutting of the block."
