MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079841 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation; and Yamamoto Rock Machine Co. Ltd., Tokyo, on Aug. 22, for 'repair apparatus and repair method.'

Inventor(s) include Ohara Yuji; Okamoto Shingo; Hino Yuta; Koshihara Takahiro; and Yatagai Yoshiichi.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "According to the present invention, the depth to which a refractory material layer is removed is accurately controlled when removing the refractory material layer using a crushing apparatus. This repair apparatus is for a container that has an upper opening and that has a refractory material layer on an inner surface. The repair apparatus is provided with: a support frame that is made to span across the opening; a turning drive portion that is provided to a lower part of the support frame; a vertical support member that is provided to a lower part of the turning drive portion and that extends in the vertical direction; a horizontal support member that is supported by the vertical support member in a manner capable of being raised and lowered, and that extends in the horizontal direction; a raising-and-lowering drive portion that is for raising and lowering the horizontal support member; a crushing apparatus that is provided to one end of the horizontal support member, and that has a crushing tool on the tip thereof; and a reaction-force support apparatus that is provided to the other end of the horizontal support member, and that has, on the tip thereof, an abutting member which touches the refractory material layer."
