MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541134702 A) filed by Amity University, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'removable retrofit electricity generation apparatus.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Praveen Kumar Maduri; and Vipin Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a removable friction wheel coupling assembly (101) enabling tool-free installation on ceiling fan motor shafts (102) ranging 12 to 25 millimeters in diameter, combined with a compound two-stage planetary gear system achieving 14 to 15 times one speed multiplication optimized specifically for low-speed operation. Four permanent magnet synchronous generators connected in series produce forty-eight volts nominal output converted to stable fourteen-point-eight volts via buck converter for charging a lithium-ion battery pack with battery management system implementing plus-or-minus five millivolt cell voltage balancing. The apparatus provides ten to sixteen watts electrical power generation at nominal fan speeds, enables twelve-volt direct-current lighting control with pulse-width-modulation brightness adjustment from zero to one hundred percent, and includes wireless Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity and Android mobile application for real-time monitoring of power generation, battery status, and load management."
