MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005331 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 25, 2024, for 'reinforcement bar bending assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Sachin Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a reinforcement bar bending assistive device, comprising a first and second curved-shaped members 1, 2 integrated with each other via a universal joint 3 in a U-shaped structure manually positioned underneath a reinforcement bar laid on ground surface, a touch enabled screen 6 installed on handle 4 accessed by user for inputting details an angle at which reinforcement bar is to be bent, a camera 7 installed on handle 4 for detecting user's height, a motorized clamp 8 installed with rod 5 via an L-shaped telescopically operated link 9 for extending to position clamp 8 in proximity to free-end of bar, a hydraulic shaft 10 installed between rod 5 and second member 2 for tilting second member 2 with respect to first member 1 to bend bar at user-defined angle."
